ABOUT Le Spice
Le Spice is a fresh, local, contemporary kitchen and Artisan Bakery with French & Thai influences. It is a concept by Pastry Chef Nick Dhers and Executive Chef Amonrat Dhers.
Co-Owner and Pastry Chef
Nicolas moved to the US from France in 1995, when he was
12 years old. He attended vocational school and studied
culinary arts from 1999-2001. He then studied business
administration from 2003-2004. From 2005-2007 he
received degrees in both pâtisserie and in bread baking
from the Institut National de la Boulangerie Pâtisserie
(INBP) in France.
Nicolas then moved on to Key West, Florida, as a pastry chef at Croissant de France, owned Nick and Flo Bakery in Miami from 2009-2014, and then moved on as executive chef in Miami's Otentic Fresh Food Restaurant. Which was rated Top 10 in Miami from 2014-2016. At this time, he also found himself as the Private Chef of Grammy Award winner DJ Cedric Gervais (Summer Time Sadness Remix).
Amonrat "Ae" Dhers
Co-Owner and Executive Chef
Amonrat, or better known as Ae (Pronounced like 'Aye') by her friends and family, started as server at Otentic Fresh Food, making her way to the kitchen, by way of pastry chef, under Nicolas Dhers' wing. She then moved up to sous chef. Soon after, Nicolas and Ae found themselves in love.
After learning all she could, she decided to explore different ways of cooking, becoming a sous chef at Jar and Fork in downtown Miami. Ae truly flourished as a chef working with organic and locally grown ingredients, taking her on a journey to a healthier way of life.
At this point, Nicolas and Ae decided to join forces again and bring a new concept to Spartanburg, South Carolina.
